Different reports of kidnapping and child trafficking surfaced online which alarmed many parents on social media. Various cases of these crimes warned parents that such incidents exist and preventive measures should be exercised.
Another attempted kidnapping case which happened in Baras, Rizal has been witnessed by a Facebook user named Kate Ianne Fabrid Ramirez. Kate immediately used her Facebook account to send the public a message claiming that attempted kidnappings are really prevalent nowadays.
In the incident she shared, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by unidentified men but was fortunate to have escaped from the suspects. In the narration, the child was on her way home when a motorist stopped in front of her and started to gag her. The child lost consciousness and was shocked to wake up inside a van. The victim also claimed that one child from the van woke her up. They saw other kids as well but they believed that they were already dead.
Fortunately, the van stopped at a checkpoint in Baras 419 highway. The driver and his companion went outside the van and left the door open. The children inside took this as an opportunity to escape. The little girl was able to go home and told her parents about the incident. They immediately called the attention of the local authorities in Baras. Kate claimed that the children were shaking in fear and tension as they tried to recall the incident for the police report.
Due to these incidents, police officials reminded the public to stay vigilant and alert at all times. They also advised parents to keep an eye on their children as they are the common targets of these heartless criminals.
