Nangako ang ating Mahal na Pangulong Duterte na Makakauwi Para sa Easter Sunday ang mga OFW sa Middle East!

Looks like Holy Week just got better for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Middle East as President Rodrigo Duterte vowed that they will be pardoned or given clemency so they can be allowed to go back home to the Philippines.

President Duterte claimed that about 5,000 pardoned OFWs will be repatriated.

He even said before his state visit to the Middle East:

“If given the clearance, I will fly them home. Pagdating to dito, dala ko na ‘yung (Upon arrival I’m bringing) those who were given clemency or pardon.”

He also said that he aims to create an agreement with Middle Eastern leaders that would give OFWs more protection against abuses.

The President also met the with Filipinos living in Riyadh on Wednesday. The OFWs raised their concerns to the President, asking questions about the “Department of OFWs” and the “national ID.”

One OFW said:
"Hello, Tatay (Dad). I have no questions at all. I just want to say thank you that you have given us hope. Thank you so much."

This was all part of the president’s weekend-long series of state visits to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Qatar

President Duterte also said that a good relationship with the Middle East will give the Philippines an economic boost as it is home to the largest demographic of OFWs.
The president made it his mission to buff up our country’s health, culture, labor, trade, and security.

“I will seek support to our efforts to bring just and lasting peace in Mindanao,” the President said.
