Recent Study On Workers Shows A Shocking Development
No matter how strict the laws are the abuse of workers from employers is never coming down. We are just listening to some kind of abuse every day. According to a recent study by the students of Honk Kong University, domestic helpers in the country experience abuse and unfair employment terms.

A post by Carla Temporosa reflects the worrying condition in Hong Kong:
“I am calling the attention of the Hong Kong Government, the Philippine Government, Hong Kong and Filipino citizens as well as citizens of the world to pay attention to the plight of all domestic helpers everywhere, especially those who become ill and are employed by inhumane employers, who in most cases are well-educated people. One of the photos shows a helper who is suffering from cancer and acute renal failure standing on the street in Hong Kong at 2:30 a.m. after being thrown out of her employer’s apartment. The employers could not wait until later in the day even though they knew that she was seriously ill. Had it not been for the kindness of a friend, she could have died on the streets of Hong Kong. The other photos show her medical condition when she was dismissed and thrown out. Stricter employment laws need to be introduced and implemented to protect all workers, especially domestic helpers, from being exploited and abused. Domestic helpers who have humane employers should really appreciate their kindness. I hope this message encourages governments and people to reflect on what it means to be a human being.”

A photograph showed a woman standing alone at 2:30 AM along with her belongings and the worst thing was that she was suffering from cancer and acute renal failure.
The similar kind of treatment is often experienced by OFWs in the Middle East. The Philippine government is now considering to ban the deployment of OFWs to Saudi Arabia.
