Elisabeth Fritzi is one of those chil ren who have experienced being abused since she was little. She grew up with her parents naamed Joseph and Rosemarie along with her six siblings in their humble home at Amstetten, Austria.
Elisabeth became the recipient of her father's anger and abusive nature. This is probably the reason why she wanted to run far away from home once she reached 18. When she's finally 18 years old, she started working at a restaurant in Linz, Austria.
On t he 29th of August in 1984, Elisabeth went missing without a trace. Her mother already filed a missing person's report once she realized that Elisabeth suddenly vanished for good.
A month after her disappearance, a letter arrived at their home. Joseph Fritzi gave it to the police for further investigation.

The letter was allegedly written by the missing teen and he was staying with a friend. She warned everyone not to look for her or she'd leave the country for good. The thing is, none of her friends also know where she is.
Joseph, on the otherhand, believes that Elisabeth was under the supervision of a cult and was already brainwashed by them.
What they all didn't know is that her father was the culprit of her disappearance. For years, he has been hiding his daughter in a sound-proof room that he made in their basement.
He visits Elisabeth every three days to give her food and water.

Over the course of imprisonment, she has given birth to seven children wherein three of them were under the care of Joseph and Rosemarie.
To prevent Rosemarie from knowing his secret, he told her that the children were left at their doorstep by Elisabeth.
One day, Elisabeth's daughter who was staying downstairs had a terrible illness and Elisabeth requested her father if she could take her to the hospital to save her life.
Joseph agreed and this is the reason why his downfall started. Doctors and even his own family were all puzzled with Joseph's story and according to him, he found Kerstin on the street.
Without a mother and father in sight, Kerstin told the doctors the whereabouts of her mother.
Police then arrested Joseph and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
